I’m Natalie Harriett, I’m 22 and this is the story of my life.
I’ve just finished my Business Management degree at The Univeristy of Birmingham and I’m about to go inter-continental for some final summer of freedom fun and adventures.
This is my little web space for me to remember what I have done over the past year ( i have a feeling its going to get a little hectic!) and also for me to talk about my travels, fundraising, beauty things, fashion, food and cocktails. As well as random lifestyle stories.
Well, actually it’s just so that I can keep my mum updated on what I’m doing really…
In July, I will be climbing Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, all for the fantastic cause that is Practical Action. They do work in South America and Africa, using sustainable technologies to help make the lives of those in poverty better, in areas such as energy, food and agriculture, sanitation and waste management. (www.practicalaction.org)
For example In Gaibandha in Bangladesh, the annual monsoon floods 90% of the land and deprives 80% of villagers of their homes, livelihoods and essential services. Together with the local communities, Practical Action is developing cluster villages to house people whose land and homes are at risk. Additionally, extension pipes to water supplies ensure access to safe drinking water throughout the floods and floating gardens are being developed to enable families to grow vegetables to feed themselves during these months.
